WispOS Developer Program
Support
Stuck on something? The answers to the common questions are below. If yours isn't there, write to us and a person will answer.
Contact developer support
Email support@wisp-os.com, or pick a topic and your mail app opens with it filled in.
Write from the email on your developer account, and include your publisher id, the app and version, and the submission id from your account page if it's about one. A person reads every message. Never send your password.
Common questions
Signing up and signing in
Do I have to wait for my account to be approved?
No. Your account works as soon as you create it: the portal signs you straight in, and the same email and password work in WispOS's Submit sheet. Each app you send is still reviewed before it goes live.
Sign-up says my developer name or publisher id is taken.
Both must be yours alone, because the store lists your apps under them. Pick a different one. Names that look like the store's own (WispOS, App Store, Support and the like) aren't allowed. If someone else is using your name, write to us.
Sign-up turned my password down.
It needs at least 12 characters. A short sentence you'll remember works well.
It says "Too many tries. Wait … minutes."
To stop password guessing, the store counts wrong passwords and new sign-ups from one network for a while (wrong passwords for 15 minutes, sign-ups for an hour). Wait the time it says and try again. A form you left empty never counts as a try. If it keeps happening, write to us with your email and roughly when.
I forgot my password.
There's no reset button yet. Write to us from the email on your account and a person will help you get back in.
Sending your app
How do I send an app?
From WispOS: open Apps, then Submit to App Store, and sign in with your developer email and password. Uploads don't happen on this site; it shows where each one stands.
How big can an app be?
A package can be up to 2 GB. You can have two uploads waiting at once, and 3 GB between them.
My upload stopped or failed.
An upload is open for a day; if your connection drops, send it again from WispOS. When it says the checks failed, the reasons are listed on your account page under “Didn't pass the checks”: fix them, raise the build number, and send it again.
The submit sheet only checks my app and sends nothing.
That WispOS build has no App Store intake switched on yet. Update WispOS, or email the package to support@wisp-os.com.
Review status
What happens after I send an app?
Machine checks for security and originality run first, then a person reviews it. Every step is emailed to you and shows on your account page under Submissions, with its full history.
What do the states mean?
In review: waiting for a person. Changes needed: the reviewer asked for something; fix it and send it again from WispOS. Approved: it goes live with the store's next publish. Live: it's on the App Store. Refused: it looked too close to an app already on the store; you can appeal once. Appealed: a person is comparing the two apps side by side. Not accepted, Withdrawn and Replaced (a newer copy took its place) are final.
My app is approved but not on the store yet.
Approved apps go live with the store's next publish, not the moment they're approved. When it's live, your submission gets a Live badge and you get an email.
I don't agree with a decision.
For a refusal, use “Appeal to a person” on that submission. For anything else, write to us with the submission id from your account page, and say why.
Ratings and reviews
Where do ratings come from?
Only from people who installed your app in WispOS. The store never adds, imports or makes up ratings, so a new app shows “Not enough ratings yet” until someone rates it.
My app's ratings or downloads show a dash.
A dash means none yet, or the store hasn't counted them yet. Your numbers on this site are refreshed by the store, not live to the second.
A review breaks the rules, or is about another app.
Write to us with the app and the review's words. The store can take a review off the page; it can't edit what someone wrote.
